    The Calgary Bisons History

The Bisons was formed in 2022 when the Calgary Redbirds and the Calgary Bucks united to form a single baseball club. The Bisons program saw immediate success by securing provincial gold in the 13U and 18U divisions in 2022. In 2023, the Bisons 13U AAA and 13U AA teams won Provincial Gold, the 14U & 16U participated in the Rawlings cup and 18U went on to compete at Westerns. In late summer of 2023, the Calgary Bucks group decided to return to operate under Absolute Baseball. The Bisons' aim is to continue to focus on a developing and mentoring young athletes to maximize their potential. Our program is overseen by Sean Bahry, Greg Wolfe and Ray Tamayo.

Prior to 2022, the Calgary Redbirds was an elite baseball program founded by the late Jim Lawson in 1991. The Redbirds organization was based on ideals to ensure player success on and off the baseball field. The foundation for this success was built on the Redbirds mantra "P.R.I.D.E." (Perseverance, Respect, Intelligence, Determination and Effort). The Redbirds have been proud to watch many of their graduates' dreams realized as they play post-secondary baseball and beyond. The Bisons' family is proud to uphold the legacy of Jim Lawson and the Calgary Redbirds as "We aspire to teach all of our players to respect all aspects of the game."

The Bison's family is committed to ensuring you THRIVE on the field and in the bigger game of life.

Immediately after fall ball, we offer a customizable, ala carte winter training program which runs from mid-October to December.

Coming Soon - The Calgary Bisons will be offering private one-on-one lessons, summer camps and clinics.
